Acrochordon (Skin Tag) Presentation and Treatment in Dermatology

Acrochordons (skin tags) are benign, skin-colored polyps arising in flexural skin creases, classically associated with older age, obesity, acanthosis nigricans, and insulin resistance, making clinical diagnosis dependent on matching lesion morphology and location with these risk-factor associations. This exemplifies a dermatologic diagnostic framework in which clinical presentation (appearance and anatomic distribution) combined with patient demographic and metabolic risk factors informs differential diagnosis.
