Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) is a statistical hypothesis test used in inferential statistics to determine whether there are statistically significant differences between the means of three or more independent groups, serving as a multigroup extension of the independent samples t-test. The method partitions total variance into components attributable to systematic factors between groups and random error within groups to evaluate the null hypothesis that all group means are equal against an alternative where at least one mean differs.
