Anti-lock Braking System

ABS uses wheel-speed sensors and a solenoid-valve hydraulic modulator to rapidly release and reapply pressure at any wheel about to lock, keeping the tire at peak slip so the driver retains steering. The Prius ECB actuator absorbs the ABS modulator's job into its own valve block.
