An antibody is only validated for western blot when the band disappears in a knockout, knockdown, or antigen-blocked sample, or is reproduced by an independent antibody against a different epitope. Catalog claims and a band at the expected molecular weight are not evidence of specificity, since many antibodies bind unrelated proteins of similar mass.
