Bathing Assistance
Bathing assistance balances thorough hygiene with safety, warmth, and dignity for a person who cannot fully bathe themselves. Preparation does most of the work: gather supplies first, warm the room, check water temperature on your own inner wrist, and use a shower chair and handheld sprayer rather than balancing acts. Wash from cleanest to dirtiest areas, let the person do whatever steps they can manage, and keep uninvolved areas covered throughout. Pat skin fully dry — especially in skin folds and between toes — since trapped moisture breaks down fragile older skin and invites infection.
