Brake Caliper Slide Pin Service

A floating caliper's two slide pins must glide freely in their rubber-booted bores so the caliper can center over the rotor; corroded or dry pins cause single-sided pad wear, drag, and heat. Service means pulling the pins, cleaning old grease and rust, relubricating with the correct grease, and checking boot integrity.
