Brake Master Cylinder

The master cylinder converts pedal force into hydraulic pressure with a tandem piston pair feeding two separate circuits, so one leak never kills all braking; the reservoir above it feeds the bores through compensation ports. In the Prius it normally feeds the stroke simulator, with the actuator generating actual line pressure.
