Cascade Control
Nests a fast inner loop (e.g. valve flow) inside a slow outer loop (e.g. tank temperature); the outer controller's output becomes the inner loop's setpoint, so inner-loop disturbances are rejected before they reach the slow process. Requires the inner loop to be several times faster, and it must be tuned first.
