A decentralized control scheme (eta-control) for grid-connected inverter-based resources that holds the Complex Frequency of the terminal voltage at a constant reference, thereby regulating the voltage phase and magnitude dynamics jointly rather than through separate decoupled loops. Students learn how enforcing a constant Complex Frequency exploits the natural coupling between frequency and voltage in low-inertia grids, and how the scheme is derived using Park's vectors and compared against droop, PI, and virtual-inertia controllers on benchmark transmission systems.
