Compost Tea Gives Inconsistent Disease Control and Few Nutrients in Garden Trials

Reviews of field trials find compost tea suppresses disease only sometimes and unpredictably, and supplies little N, P or K. Molasses-fed aerated brews can grow E. coli and Salmonella, so do not spray them on leafy crops near harvest; spreading the compost itself is the reliable option.
