Disc Brake Component Anatomy

A disc brake converts hydraulic pressure into clamping force: caliper pistons squeeze friction pads against a rotating iron rotor bolted to the hub, turning kinetic energy into heat. Knowing each part — pads, rotor, caliper, bracket, hardware clips, slide pins — is the vocabulary for every service step that follows.
