A proposed mechanism (DW-genesis) for generating the observed matter-antimatter asymmetry of the universe from cosmological domain walls. Axionic domain walls that couple to lepton number source a net baryon and lepton asymmetry through spontaneous baryogenesis as the wall network annihilates; the asymmetry is maximized when the network collapses near the decoupling of the lepton-number-violating interaction, and successful realizations are generically in tension with a detectable gravitational-wave signal from the annihilating walls.
