Evolution of Green Valley Galaxy Progenitors in the EAGLE Simulation

A cosmological-simulation study of how the progenitors of today's Green Valley galaxies evolve from early cosmic times to the present, resolving their history into an early gas-rich star-forming phase, a merger-driven transition, and a mass- and environment-dependent quenching phase. It shows most such galaxies transition into the Green Valley only recently and that a minority undergo late-time rejuvenation.
