Expired and Removed Listing Handling in Marketplace SEO
An expired listing can return 410 Gone when it has no links or traffic, be 301-redirected to its closest parent category when it has earned links, or stay live marked 'no longer available' with related listings when the page still answers searches (for example a recurring event). The choice depends on the listing's links, traffic and whether it will return.
