Extrusion sweeps a closed profile linearly along a direction for a depth set by an end condition (blind, through-all, up-to-surface, mid-plane), then Boolean-joins or Boolean-cuts the result into the body. End-condition choice is design intent: 'through all' survives thickness changes where a blind depth silently fails.
