Gothic-Arch Tunnels Shed Heavy Snow That Collapses Rounded Quonset Hoops
Wet snow weighs about 200–500 kg/m³, so 30 cm can load a roof with 60–150 kg/m². A pointed Gothic ridge sheds it; a flat-topped Quonset and sagging plastic between purlins hold it. Closer bow spacing (1.2 m vs 1.8 m) adds strength.
