Gradient Promotion Training for Task-Driven Medical Image Quality Enhancement

A training strategy (GradProm) for jointly optimizing an image-enhancement model and an auxiliary recognition model: the enhancement model is updated with the auxiliary task's gradient only when the two gradients are cosine-aligned, and with its own gradient otherwise, provably keeping its optimization direction unbiased by the auxiliary task.
