HotStuff Consensus
A BFT protocol where all votes flow through the leader and are aggregated into quorum certificates via threshold signatures, giving linear O(n) message complexity per view — including view change — at the cost of a third phase that makes leader rotation safe and cheap. Its chained/pipelined form, in which each block's QC simultaneously advances three phases, underlies modern systems such as Aptos and derivatives like Jolteon and MalachiteBFT.
