Hybrid Opto-Electrical Excitation of Spin-Transfer Torque Nano-Oscillators for Neuromorphic Computing

A hybrid excitation scheme for vortex-based spin-transfer torque nano-oscillators combining AC laser heating with a DC bias current, producing bias-enhanced Tunnel Magneto-Seebeck thermovoltages whose neuron-like spikes (linked to Barkhausen jumps and vortex-core transitions) make the device a candidate building block for energy-efficient neuromorphic hardware.
