Ideal-Point Task Hierarchies for Cost-Duration Project Planning

An operations-research framework that treats the project-planning stage as decision-making: build a hierarchy of tasks and assign them to performers under joint cost and duration constraints. A minimum-duration estimate (iterative method exploiting simultaneous execution of independent tasks) and a minimum-cost estimate (Boolean/0-1 program) define an 'ideal point'; the method of successive concessions then generates management-decision options approaching that point in a dialog with the decision maker.
