Immunofluorescence Detection in Tissue

Fluorophore-conjugated antibodies give a linear, quantifiable signal and allow several targets on one section, at the cost of photobleaching and competition from tissue autofluorescence (elastin, lipofuscin, red cells). Tyramide signal amplification deposits fluorophore covalently and decouples the fluorophore from the antibody species.
