Linac-Based Low-Energy Positron Diffraction for Surface Analysis

An experimental station that uses a slow-positron beam from a linear accelerator to perform low-energy positron diffraction (LEPD), the positron counterpart of LEED, for accurate surface atomic-structure determination. Learners see how LEPD I-V curves are measured, why positrons improve surface sensitivity over electrons, and how the station is coordinated with synchrotron ARPES to combine structural and electronic-structure analysis.
