Load-Cell Center-of-Mass Localization for Non-Invasive Beehive Monitoring

A non-invasive IoT system that locates a bee colony inside a hive and tracks its honey consumption from four corner load cells. Treating each load cell's force reading as a point mass, the colony's planar position is the center of mass of the four readings, while the falling total weight measures honey use. Digitized by HX711 ADCs on a Raspberry Pi Pico and relayed over Wi-Fi via MQTT to a Raspberry Pi that logs to MySQL; a physical bench model validated the reconstructed trajectory.
