Long-Range Interaction as a Resource in Critical Quantum Metrology

The finding that in criticality-enhanced quantum sensing the range of interactions is itself a metrological resource: in the analytically tractable long-range Kitaev chain, increasing the power-law interaction range raises the quantum Fisher information and thus the achievable precision of critical parameter estimation, both for standard single-parameter estimation and when nominally known parameters carry uncertainty.
