Membrane Stripping and Reprobing

Low-pH glycine or a reducing SDS buffer disrupts antibody-epitope binding so the membrane can be reprobed for a second target, but it also removes some bound antigen and irreversibly damages epitopes, biasing the second quantification downward. Complete removal must be confirmed by imaging after stripping before the new primary is applied.
