Micrometer Measurement

An outside micrometer measures thickness to 0.01 mm via a precision screw: close the spindle on the work with the ratchet for repeatable pressure, then read the sleeve and thimble scales. It is the required instrument for rotor thickness, where calipers are too coarse near the discard limit.
