Multipath-Component-Aided Signal Processing for Integrated Sensing and Communication

In dense-urban integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) for 6G, multipath is usually treated as interference to be removed. This work instead exploits the multipath components (MPCs) as a resource: a symbol-level fusion for MPC-aided localization (SFMC) scheme combines information carried by the resolved multipath to achieve robust, high-accuracy localization, and a Khatri-Rao space-time (KRST) code is applied to jointly improve communication and sensing performance in rich-multipath environments. Simulations show the SFMC scheme gives more robust and accurate localization than baselines that discard multipath.
