Nyquist Sampling in Image Acquisition

Pixel and z-step spacing must be about half the optical resolution in each axis, so roughly 2.3 samples across the smallest resolvable feature, or fine detail is aliased and unrecoverable. Oversampling beyond this only adds dose and bleaching without adding resolution.
