Placement by Bisection over a Prerequisite Chain in Adaptive Learning
To find where a learner's knowledge ends, the engine asks about a concept in the middle of the prerequisite chain, then halves the chain toward the side the answer points to. A few questions find the boundary that a full quiz would need many to find.
