Power Budgeting

A power budget sums the current draw of every rail consumer across its duty cycle, average mA = sum of (active current x active fraction), and divides battery capacity by that average to predict runtime. Sleep modes, peripheral shutdown, and lower sample rates are the main levers, and regulator quiescent current often dominates a mostly-sleeping design.
