Pressure-Dependent Angstrom-Channel Streaming Beyond Double-Layer Theory
An experimental and theoretical account of ionic streaming current in Angstrom-scale charged channels where electrical-double-layer theory breaks down: the streaming conductance becomes pressure-dependent with an onset threshold below a ~2 nm radius. Counterion dissociation from deprotonated surface groups is modeled as a 1D Kramers escape process, and a Damkohler number in pressure and channel radius marks the nonlinear-to-linear conductance crossover and the enhanced effective surface potential.
