Prius Brake Actuator Service Precautions

The ECB actuator can self-pressurize the lines whenever the system wakes — opening a bleeder or pushing a piston at that moment sprays fluid and can flag DTCs. Before caliper work: car OFF, key away from the vehicle, and disconnect the 12 V auxiliary battery (or pull the ECB fuses) so the actuator cannot run.
