Python AI Agent Design Patterns: Chain of Responsibility Pattern

The chain of responsibility pattern decomposes a multi-step process into a sequence of handlers that share an identical signature and are executed in order, with each handler reading and enriching a shared context so that later steps use earlier results. Applied to LLM-based agent systems, it replaces one monolithic prompt with single-purpose agents, each responsible for one step, with the sequencing structure separated from the step logic. It belongs to software design patterns (behavioral patterns) and to the architecture of modular AI and agent systems.
