Quantification Cycle

The quantification cycle (Cq, historically Ct or Cp) is the fractional cycle number at which a reaction's fluorescence crosses the threshold, and it is inversely proportional to the logarithm of starting template copy number. Cq is a relative, instrument- and setting-dependent number, not a physical constant, so it is only comparable across reactions analysed with identical baseline and threshold settings.
