Raman Shift

The spectrum's x-axis is not absolute wavelength but the difference in wavenumbers between the laser line and the scattered light, so the same molecule gives the same peak positions with any excitation laser. Stokes and anti-Stokes lines sit symmetrically about the Rayleigh line at zero shift.
