Raman Spectrometer Instrumentation

A Raman instrument is a narrow-linewidth laser, delivery and collection optics, a filter to reject the elastic line, a dispersing grating and a cooled array detector. Because the signal is many orders of magnitude weaker than the excitation, throughput, stray-light rejection and detector dark current dominate the design.
