Ray-Traced Channel Modeling for 6G Network Digital Twins in ns-3
Integrates the Sionna RT deterministic ray tracer into the ns-3 network simulator over a modular UDP-socket interface to build the first open-source, full-stack, multi-RAT Digital Network Twin. It replaces ns-3's stochastic and frequency-tied channel models with site-specific ray-traced path gains (GPU-accelerated, with a ray-path caching mechanism and real-time position synchronization), and validates the framework in an urban vehicular scenario across 802.11p, LTE-V2V and NR-V2V, measuring up to 65% differences in application-layer performance versus stochastic models.
Toward Digital Network Twins: Integrating Sionna RT in ns-3 for 6G Multi-RAT Networks Simulations
The increasing complexity of 6G systems demands innovative tools for network management, simulation, and optimization. This work introduces the integration of ns-3 with Sionna RT, establishing the fo…
