Repository Pattern in Python using Abstract Base Class Interface and Mocking

The Repository pattern is a software design pattern that separates how data is stored from how data is accessed and operated on, by placing an abstract interface of storage operations between application logic and a concrete storage mechanism. This decoupling of concerns improves maintainability, extensibility, and testability, and it generalizes beyond relational databases to any storage (object stores, key-value stores, files). It belongs to object-oriented software design and architecture, closely related to abstraction, interfaces, dependency substitution, and Object-Relational Mappers (ORMs).
