Ribosomal RNA Depletion

Ribosomal RNA is 80-90% of total cellular RNA, so libraries either poly(A)-select or hybridize probes to rRNA and pull it out. Depletion retains non-polyadenylated transcripts, degraded FFPE RNA and many long non-coding RNAs that poly(A) selection loses.
