Sensor Response Linearization
Many sensors respond nonlinearly to the measurand, such as a thermistor's exponential resistance-temperature curve, so a straight-line calibration only holds over a narrow range. Linearization applies an inverse model, such as the Steinhart-Hart equation, a lookup table with interpolation, or a piecewise fit, to recover the true value across the full range.
