SkyGS: Federated Ground-Station-as-a-Service for Orbital Data Processing

A system that federates Ground-Station-as-a-Service (GSaaS) and cloud computing across multiple providers to cost-efficiently downlink and process Earth-observation data from large LEO satellite constellations. It jointly schedules communication and computation, formulated as a long-term system-cost minimization under a data-latency constraint; Lyapunov optimization decomposes it into per-slot problems requiring no future knowledge, and each is solved as a bipartite graph-matching problem via the Hungarian algorithm, achieving up to 63% cost savings and 95% lower latency in simulation.
