Spectral Baseline Correction

A slowly varying background such as fluorescence is modelled with a low-order polynomial or penalized least-squares fit and subtracted, leaving the sharp Raman bands. Iterative variants like ModPoly, I-ModPoly and airPLS avoid the classic failure of fitting the peaks themselves.
