Spinning-Disk Confocal Microscopy

Thousands of pinholes on a rotating disk illuminate and descan many points in parallel onto a camera, yielding hundreds of sectioned frames per second. Parallelization lowers per-molecule excitation dose, but fixed pinhole size and pinhole crosstalk degrade sectioning in thick or densely labelled samples.
