Strong Gravitational Lensing of Quasars

The regime of gravitational lensing in which a foreground galaxy's mass bends light from a background quasar strongly enough to produce multiple resolved images. Understanding this requires the lens equation, convergence and shear, and how the observed image configuration and fluxes encode the mass distribution of the lens.
