Tiered Compilation in Wasm Engines
Engines like V8 (Liftoff then TurboFan) first emit fast, mediocre baseline code so execution starts immediately, then recompile hot functions with an optimizing tier and hot-swap them. Unlike JS JITs there is no speculation or deopt: Wasm's static types make optimized code predictable, so performance has no warm-up cliffs beyond tier-up.
