TrackEff: Simplified Track-Reconstruction Efficiency for Long-Lived-Particle Searches
A Python tool (TrackEff) that estimates the reconstruction efficiency of displaced charged-particle tracks for phenomenological long-lived-particle searches without full GEANT4 detector simulation. It uses a simplified, parameterized geometric model of the tracker (default: the Belle II drift chamber) to count the detector hits associated with each track produced in generator-level Monte Carlo, and lets the user decide detectability from the hit count. This gives phenomenologists a fast, tunable way to account for the displaced-vertex position dependence of tracking efficiency that crude parameterizations miss, and supports quick evaluation of new detector geometries.
