UMAP and Non-Linear Embedding of High-Dimensional Data
UMAP builds a fuzzy nearest-neighbour graph in high dimensions and optimises a low-dimensional layout that preserves that local structure. It is the default view for single-cell data, where local neighbourhoods are meaningful but global distances between clusters are not.
