Why a Stiffer Artery Produces a Larger Pulse Pressure

Turns pulse pressure from a number into a readout of wall material. A compliant aorta absorbs the ejected volume and releases it; a stiff one cannot, so the systolic peak rises and the diastolic trough falls. This is the node that makes pulse pressure a proxy for tissue composition and therefore relevant to vocal fold tissue.
