Writing and Running Tests with the Node Test Runner
Node has a test runner built in: you write test blocks in a file, run node --test, and it reports which ones passed. Because it ships with Node there is no framework to install or configure before you can check that your code still works. A login system without tests is one where you find out about a broken sign-up from a user rather than from a command you ran.
