Zeeman-Field-Induced Gapless-Gapped Transitions in the One-Dimensional Gross-Neveu Model

How an external Zeeman magnetic field reshapes the phase diagram of the doped one-dimensional Gross-Neveu model of massless fermions: the field imbalances the two spin populations, suppresses the gapless phase, drives a gapless-gapped transition at a critical field strength, shifts the tricritical point, and produces reentrant behavior, all obtained from the finite-temperature effective potential and a Ginzburg-Landau expansion.
